Peroneus tendon strain is a type of foot and ankle injury caused due to excessive stretching or tearing of the peroneal tendon, which lies in the foot behind the outer ankle bone. It may be acute – caused suddenly or chronic – progressing over a long period of time. There are three types of peroneus tendon strains:
