Traumatic Adductor Tendon Rupture

The adductor tendon, which is located on the inside of the thigh may be ruptured due to trauma while playing sports such as soccer and football. Signs and symptoms may include a palpable swelling on the inside of the thigh, pain, and inability to return to sports. A diagnosis may be made by physical examination and imaging studies such as an MRI to evaluate the adductor tendon. Conservative treatment such as rest, icing, pain medications and physical therapy may help you get back to routine activities of daily living, but return to high level sports will require surgical repair of the tendon.
